This painting was inspired by a hand-carved and painted wooden tiger from India, a bestseller at Hayle Emporium, alongside their Hilltop cut comb acacia honey. That pairing sparked a playful thought: could bees and tigers be friends? Would a tiger be curious about bees?
Tigger once rescued Winnie-the-Pooh from plenty of honey-related scrapes, so the idea didn’t feel too far-fetched. From there, the painting evolved on the canvas, with my tiger joyfully racing alongside his buzzing companions.
