Meet the Guardian of The Garden – bold, unimpressed, and absolutely claiming the spotlight. The cat in this painting is my cat pickle, and he is the story behind this piece, and this is one of his poses! His funny personality crept into this painting as I was mixing in the rich purples and gold in the pot, the dreamy teal leaves followed and then the cat bought everything together. Beside him grows a rare moon-lit plant that I invented, a species that absorbs moon dust overnight and turns it into a healing elixir. These flowers glow gently in the dark, carrying little pockets of calm for anyone who needs it.
A bit wild, a bit mystical… very much part of A Blooming Riot world, a body of work where I allow colour to behave freely and intuitively and share its story. The artwork measures 40 × 50 cm and is mixed media on wood board.
